Sew What? was founded in 2013 to teach hand sewing in primary schools. We believe children of all ages should start sewing with proper needles.
Five years later in 2018, we launched our Sewing Machine Kits. We found that new and enthusiastic sewing machine owners were at a loss of what to do with their sparkly new machines. Disappointed by the quality and scope of regular kits, we created simple, beautiful and useful Sewing Machine Kits in playful colourways. Each kit helps new sewing machine owners to master vital skills: boosting their creative confidence, a world of creativity opens up.
In September 2019 Sew What? were selected by Kirsty Allsopp to appear at the Handmade Festival.
Recently we have started to expand into Secondary schools. Our first, Waldegrave have been so welcoming and the girl’s enthusiasm shines through.
A new decade of sewing awaits!
