About the courseWhat happens in a class
- Your child works one-to-one with a Sew What? teacher at the machine.
- Bring your own machine and we'll help them get to know it, or use one of ours.
- We supply all the fabric, thread and patterns.
- They choose what to make, from a first pencil case to their own designs.
How booking works
- Pick a time See every free class and tick the ones that suit you.
- Tell us about your child What they'd like to make and whether they're bringing a machine.
- Pay and you're booked Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We'll email a reminder the day before.
Questions parents ask
Does my child need to have sewn before?
No. Lots of children come for their very first go on a machine. Classes are one-to-one, so the teacher starts wherever your child is.
Do we need our own sewing machine?
No, we have machines in the studio. If your child has one at home, bring it along (with its power lead and foot pedal) and they'll learn on the machine they'll use. Thinking of buying one? Read our buying guide.
How old do they need to be?
Studio classes are for ages 6 and up. For younger children, our school sewing clubs start from Year 1.
What if we need to move a class?
Reply to your confirmation email at least 24 hours before and we'll find another time.
Can we book a time that isn't listed?
Get in touch and we'll see what we can do, including the odd weekend or holiday morning.

The entrance to the studio is on Bedford Road, TW2 5EW.
Opposite numbers 3 & 4 on Bedford Road.
