School sewing clubs

Which schools do you run clubs at?

You'll find every school, with its clubs, days and prices, on our school clubs page.

What age can children join?

Lunchtime clubs start from Year 1. After-school clubs vary by school, and some run up to Year 10. Each club shows the year groups it's for.

Does my child need any experience?

No. Projects start simple and build up over the term, and every child takes home what they make.

Do I need to send anything with my child?

No. We provide every needle, fabric and thread.

How does my child get home after an after-school club?

We ask when you book whether you're collecting, someone else is, or your child goes home on their own, and the teacher follows that.

Booking and paying

When does booking open?

Booking for each term opens a few weeks before it starts. Join our newsletter at the bottom of this page and we'll tell you when.

How do I pay?

Online when you book, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You'll get a confirmation email straight away.

Can I book more than one child?

Yes, you can add brothers and sisters to the same booking.

The club is full. What now?

Join the waiting list on the club's page. If a place comes up we'll email you a link, and the place is held for you for 48 hours.

Can my child join after the term has started?

Online booking closes when the first session starts. If there's still room, get in touch and we'll add your child ourselves.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes, if your child decides not to start before the term begins. Once the term has begun we can't give refunds, but we'll give you the project so your child can carry on at home.

What if my child misses a session, for example for a school trip?

We can't offer an extra session or a refund, as the club still runs for the rest of the group that day, but we always help them catch up.

Do you offer discounts?

No, we keep one fair price for everyone. If your school funds places, for example through pupil premium, it can book them with us directly.

Studio classes

Who are studio classes for?

Children aged 6 and up, from first-timers to confident sewers. Classes are one-to-one at our Twickenham studio.

Do we need our own sewing machine?

No, we have machines in the studio. If your child has one at home, bring it along with its power lead and foot pedal.

Which sewing machine should we buy?

Our sewing machine buying guide covers what to look for, the beginner machines we recommend and what age to start.

Can we move a class?

Yes. Reply to your confirmation email at least 24 hours before and we'll find another time.

Can I cancel a studio class?

Yes. Tell us at least 24 hours before and we'll refund you in full. With less notice, or if your child doesn't come, we can't give a refund. Duke of Edinburgh packages can be refunded before the first class; after that, classes can be moved but not refunded.

Where is the studio?

The entrance to the studio is on Bedford Road, TW2 5EW. Opposite numbers 3 & 4 on Bedford Road.

Shop and gift cards

Do you deliver?

Free local delivery to TW1 and TW2, UK postage everywhere else, or free collection from our studio in Twickenham.

How do gift cards work?

Gift cards are emailed with a code to spend in our shop or on studio classes (enter it when you book). If the code isn't used up in one go, the rest stays on the card for next time. Valid for 1 year from the day it's bought.

Can I send a gift card to myself to give in person?

Yes. Put your own email address as the recipient, then print the email or forward it on.

Your child's details

Why do you ask for medical and support needs?

So the club teacher knows how to look after your child. Only our team sees them.

How long do you keep children's details?

We delete them shortly after the term ends. We keep a record of the payment for our accounts.

Are your teachers DBS-checked?

Yes. Every teacher is DBS-checked and on the update service, insured and trained in safeguarding.
